Overview

The Jeep® Renegade is an eye-catching exploration in combining car-like features with the off-road capability the manufacturer is known for. The Renegade is a compact SUV that boasts the brand's signature seven-slotted grille and round headlights while incorporating unique styling cues, proving that Jeep design is constantly evolving while keeping performance and comfort front and center.

The 2017 model seats five passengers and includes Xenon headlights, automatic high beams, and keyless entry and ignition. The boxy design and features carry over from the previous year model, and four trim levels are available, ensuring that every driver will find the perfect fit for their driving needs.

The Perfect Ride for…

Drivers looking for a compact SUV that's capable of performing on the pavement or trails without hogging the entire roadway. The Renegade is also a great option for drivers transitioning from a sedan to an SUV. Its smaller size makes it perfect for joining the SUV family and will ensure that anyone behind the wheel feels comfortable commanding the Renegade on the road.

Drive & Handling

Beneath the hood of the Renegade, drivers will choose between two excellent engine options. The Sport and Latitude trims house a turbocharged 1.4-liter MultiAir® V4 capable of kicking up 160 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. This base engine comes with a six-speed manual and is EPA-rated at 26 mpg combined (24 mpg city, 31 mpg highway).*

If you’d like a little more power for traversing the roads less traveled, upgrade to the 2.4-liter Tigershark® MultiAir 2 V4 that’s paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission for 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. This engine is rated at 25 mpg combined (22 mpg city, 30 mpg highway) with two-wheel drive or 24 mpg combined (21 mpg city, 29 mpg combined) with four-wheel drive.*

The top-of-the-line Trailhawk® trim comes with four-wheel drive, hill descent control, tow hooks, a raised suspension, and skid plates, making this the vehicle to choose if you love off-roading. All models are equipped with the Selec-Terrain® Traction Control System that allows the driver to choose between Auto, Snow, Sand, and Mud settings. The Trailhawk® receives an additional Rock setting.

Key Features

Uconnect®

Uconnect® 3.0 is standard, but drivers can upgrade to the Uconnect® 5.0 or Uconnect® 6.5 Nav systems. The standard system includes four lines of text display on an easily readable screen mounted in the dash, while the 5.0 system’s screen grows to 5 inches and includes a USB port for your mobile devices. The top Uconnect® 6.5 Nav system shows directions on a 6.5-inch screen and also includes sensor-assisted GPS.

My Sky® Open-Air System

This available feature will transform your drive from average to exceptional. Feel the sunshine pour in when the roof panel is retracted, or remove the panels for a true open-air experience.

BeatsAudio™ Premium Sound System

Music lovers will enjoy the crisp and clear notes that float out from a 506-watt digital amplifier. Eight speakers fill the cabin with your favorite tunes, amplified by a rear subwoofer.

Alternative Options

If you're searching for an iconic Jeep with more cargo space, the Patriot is a great option. This model also seats five and has an available Boston Acoustics® Premium Audio System with flip-down speakers that unfold from the liftgate when open. Pull them down, impress your friends, and upgrade your tailgate or camping trip. The Jeep® Compass is another option for anyone seeking a compact SUV. Its design is more streamlined than the boxy look of the Renegade, and its interior perfectly combines form with function.
